TRAINING VILLAGE EMPLOYEES
On Friday, August 1, 2008 Rochester Fire trains the Rochester Library Staff on the safety and use of a fire extinguisher.

Each staff member participated in the class and used an extinguisher to extinguish a small controlled fire.


CONTINUING EDUCATION
Four members attend Fire College at the Illinois Fire Service Institute on the campus of the University of Illinois May 29, 2008 thru June 1, 2008.

Classes that were attended were: First-in Officer on the fire ground, Fighting Single-Family Dwelling Fires, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, Commercial Building Operations for Engine Companies, Tender (tankers) Operations, Advanced Auto Extrication, Leadership.


TEAMWORK
On May 10, 2008 Rochester Fire along and Divernon Fire train together at the Dominion Power Plant.


WORKING TOGETHER
On April 14, 2008 Rochester Fire along with Rochester Public Works train together on water infrastructure. The Illinois Rural Water Association came to demonstrate the workings of a fire hydrant and the importance of maintaining the public water system.
